On Tuesday, 19 November 2013 at 1400 GMT, an explosion occurred at the Total Refinery in Antwerp, Belgium. The explosion stemmed from a problem in the steam-pipes system of a gasoline producing unit. Sadly, there were 2 fatalities before the refinery was evacuated. Both victims were employees of a maintenance subcontractor.
This is Total’s biggest refinery and the third largest in Europe.
