Thieves Cause an Explosion at Nigerian Refinery – Sunday May 18, 2014

Pipeline vandals caused an explosion near Nigeria’s Port Harcourt refinery on Sunday, May 18th.  A spokesman for NNPC said that the blast did not damage refinery installations or impact operations. 

Seven people died in the blast.

Port Harcourt has a 40,000 b/d Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit.
